Hillhouse is a luxuriously appointed detached Georgian house situated in its own private grounds 3 miles from the golfers paradise of Troon on the Ayrshire coast. The House provides excellent accommodation for entertaining family groups, corporate clients and is a great venue for weddings. Troon is easily accessible for a weekend break due to its close proximity to Glasgow and Prestwick Airports.

The Location

Hillhouse is located 30 miles south west of Glasgow . The nearest airport is Prestwick, a 10 minute drive which is served by international flights . For domestic flights Glasgow Airport is 40 minutes and is served by a wide choice of airlines from airports throughout the UK.

The History

Hillhouse is a listed property which was built in 1780. During the past 2 years it has undergone an extensive refurbishment combining modern fittings and classic Georgian features to great effect.

The Accommodation

The accommodation can sleep up to 20 guests in 10 double bedrooms, of which 8 have en-suite bathrooms set in marble. There is under-floor heating throughout.
Ground Floor:
  1. Entrance hall with ornate spiral staircase.
  2. Sitting room with open fire.
  3. Library with 40" plasma screen, satellite TV and DVD with surround sound.
  4. Study with internet access and printer for guest use.
  5. Main dining room seating up to 18 guests. Ideal use as a conference room with 50" wall mounted screen for presentations. Larger dinner parties for up to 50 guests can be accommodated in the Ballroom.
  6. Smaller dining room for breakfast .
  7. Billiard room with 50" plasma screen, satellite TV and DVD.
  8. Ballroom. Can be used for dancing and Scottish reeling.
  9. Guest kitchen with Aga, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave.

First Floor:
  1. Master double with dressing room and en-suite bathroom.
  2. 7 double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms with super kingsize beds which can be converted into twins on request.
  3. 2 double bedrooms with super kingsize beds which can convert to twins.
  4. 1 bathroom.
The Grounds
